Senior Real Estate & Home Transitions in Boise
Your next move may look a little different. That's okay.
Whether you're thinking about downsizing your own home or helping a parent navigate what's next, a move at this stage of life can come with a lot more questions than simply, “What's my home worth?”
Where will you go? What should you do with everything you've accumulated over the years? Should you make repairs before selling? Is moving even the right choice?
As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®), I help older adults and their families navigate these decisions with patience, practical guidance and a plan built around what matters most to you.
You don't have to know what's next to start the conversation.

What Brings You Here?
Every transition looks different. Start with the situation that feels most like yours.
Ready for less maintenance, a different layout or simply a home that better fits the way you live today?

I’m Thinking About Downsizing
When you’re helping Mom or Dad make decisions about their home, it can be difficult to know where your roles begins - or where to even start.
I’m Helping a Parent
From preparing a longtime home for market to determining what needs to happen before it can be sold, I'll help you understand the real estate side of the process.
We Need to Sell a Parent's Home
MORE THAN A REAL ESTATE DECISION
For many older adults, selling a home means saying goodbye to a place filled with decades of memories.
And for adult children, helping a parent make that transition can mean suddenly juggling housing, belongings, finances, timelines and family dynamics—all while trying to make the right decision for someone you love.
That's why my approach starts before the “For Sale” sign.
We'll talk through where things stand today, what you or your parent want for the next chapter and what needs to happen to get there.
Sometimes that means selling.
Sometimes it means waiting.
And sometimes our first conversation simply gives you a clearer idea of your options.
What Is an SRES®?
A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® is a REALTOR® who has completed specialized education focused on the real estate needs of adults age 50+.
That additional training includes understanding the housing choices, financial considerations and lifestyle changes that can accompany later-in-life moves.
But to me, being an SRES® means something even simpler:
Knowing when to slow things down, ask better questions and make sure the person at the center of the decision feels heard.
Where Do We Even Start?
It's one of the most common questions I hear.
And the answer depends on your situation.
You might need to determine what the home is worth before making another decision.
You might need to sort through decades of belongings.
You may be wondering whether repairs are worth making before selling.
Your family might still be deciding where Mom or Dad should live next.
Or you may simply need someone who understands the process to help you put the pieces in the right order.
You don't need to solve everything before contacting me.
We'll figure out the first step together. →
A Local Resource for the Entire TransitionA successful move often involves more than a real estate agent.
Depending on your situation, you may need help with downsizing, organizing, moving, estate sales, home repairs, legal questions or other parts of the transition.
Over the years, I've built relationships with local professionals and resources throughout Boise and the Treasure Valley who can help make those pieces easier to navigate.
Common Questions About Senior Home Transitions
-
Start by understanding what your parent wants and what decisions need to be made before the home goes on the market. From there, you'll want to consider timing, the condition of the home, belongings that need to be sorted and whether your parent will move before or after the sale. An SRES® can help your family organize the real estate portion of that process.
-
Not necessarily. Some homeowners prefer to move first so the home can be prepared and shown without disrupting daily life. Others need proceeds from their current home before making their next move. The best approach depends on finances, timing and the type of move being considered.
-
Sometimes—but probably not as much as you think. Before investing in renovations, it's important to understand which improvements are likely to affect the home's marketability or value. In many situations, smaller repairs, cleaning and thoughtful preparation can make more sense than a major renovation.
-
Then selling doesn't have to be the first step. Understanding the home's value and available options can still help your family plan ahead without committing to a move.

You Don't Have to Have a Plan Yet
Maybe you're ready to move.
Maybe you're helping Mom or Dad.
Maybe you're six months—or several years—away from making a decision.
That's okay.
A conversation now can help you understand your options so that when the time comes, you're making decisions from a plan instead of reacting to a situation.
Let's talk about what comes next.
